Mildred Ladyman began serious photography about fifteen years ago. She specializes in nature photography, including birds, animals, flowers (including soft focus and abstracts), insects and scenics. Her photography trips with her husband, Leon, have included travel in a motor-home throughout the entirety of North America from Prudhoe Bay to Panama. Other destinations have included Virgin Islands, Kenya, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Ecuador and a three-month motor-home trip throughout Australia.

The past few years Mildred has focused on birds in general, and hummingbirds in particular. Her slide presentation, Flying Jewels, with fifty-three different species of hummingbirds, was featured at the annual Hummer/Bird Celebration at Rockport, Texas. She has given presentations to a variety of groups, including the National Audubon Society in the United States and Panama, photography clubs, and civic, nature and educational groups in Costa Rica, Mexico and Canada, as well as the United States.

Mildred has won top awards in numerous contests. Publishing credits include Wildbird Magazine, The Hummingbird Connection, The Dallas Morning News, textbooks, children’s books, nature books, video labels and travel brochures for Cabanas San Isidro in Ecuador.
