WAVERLEY TRAYLOR,
has always had a love for photography and animals which made Wildlife Photography
a natural step. He astonished his friends and co-workers, however, when
he announced that he was giving up his career in corporate management to
pursue this dream. He has traveled extensively photographing wildlife throughout
North America, but now concentrates his work along the Middle Atlantic
coast. His speciality is the abundant life found in the Great Dismal Swamp
and he spends as much of his time as possible buried within the magnificence
of this area.
Waverley's work has been seen in International
Wolf; Wildlife Rehabilitation Today; Outdoor California; Animal Times;
Virginian Pilot and Insight magazines. His images have also appeared in
educational videos produced by the state of Virginia, and in national advertisement
campaigns for Pet-Ag Inc., Mamont Park, Virginia Living Museum and Virginia
Beach. He has displayed his photography throughout Virginia and provided
support with wildlife programs and materials for the Children's Hospital
of the Kings Daughters; Southern Environmental Law Center; PETA; The Hoffler
Foundation; The American Environment Foundation; Wildlife Care Inc.; Bat
Conservation International; Wolf Haven; and the International Wolf Center.
Book credits include Uncommon Care for Common Animals, National Audubon
Society Regional Guides, and he is presently shooting for his Life in
the Great Dismal, a coffee table picture book.
